Professor Zhiguang Kong likes to draw pictures from his childhood upwards due to an artist-family. Under the advice of his farther, Duanfu Kong, a famous artist, the talent of Professor Kong was shown during the period of middle school. During the period of university, his drawing level was improved a lot and he took part in the art exhibitions several times.

After graduation, Professor Kong worked in forestry district of Hei’long’jiang province for more than ten years. He tries to draw pictures with his heart, based on his rich life experiences. During this period, he created many excellent poems and pictures. The pictures named Green Pine on the Wanda Mountain, Wind, Snow & Woods, Walking Country by Building Road and Bridge, Azalea in Forest, Mountains waked by trains loaded with lumbers, Spring comeing back to Xi’an’ling, Waterfall of Jingpo, were exhibited at national artistic show, Hei’long ’jiang provincial show and artistic show of Mudanjiang Forest District. His poems and short articles were published in provincial and metropolitan newspapers.

When Professor Kong studied for master degree and work in Shandong University, he applies himself to study artistic and aesthetic theory. In his spare time, he visited many famous places of scenic beauty and historic interests. This gives him new understanding about artistic creation. In recent six years, Professor Kong lived in South Korea for one year, Japan for two months and half an year in United States. These experiences further broaden his artistic outlook and enrich his creation ability. Based on the above experiences, he created many important works named Sunrise of Mountain Tai, Spring of Xingtan, Beautiful Scenery of Three-Straits, Pines of Mountain Huang, Mountains and Rivers of Yangsuo, Peaceful Qingcheng Mountain, Wenshu Buddhist saint of Dazu Grotto, Puxian Buddhist saint of Dazu Grotto, Beautiful Campus at the Foot of Fenglin Mountain---Scenery of Changyuan University, Chushi-Building, Cherry Blossoms in Zhenhai, Red Maple in Fuoguo Temple, Juji Island, Gaoling Rock Carving, Beautiful Scenery of Kochi, Campus Scenery of Harvard University, Beautiful Autumn of Cornell University, Red building of Brown University

in the snow, Old Castle of Qiandao Lake. The characteristics of These pictures are creation of ideal pictures, description of enthusiasm with poems, richness of humanity spirit, power of skillful lines and complex of ink and color. The pictures of Professor Kong are praised as “new literary artist pictures with poems”. In 1999, Professor Kong conducted his personal artistic works exhibition in Changyuan Univeristy of South Korea. In 2004, he is highly appraised by his performance of drawing pictures in Ithaca, U.S.A.. Many excellent pictures of Professor Kong are collected by friends of South Korea, United States, Japan, Vietnam, the Republic of Estonia,China, ect..
